Dr. Janice Wilson (BSc, DDS, MSc, Cert Prostho)

Clinical Director & Prosthodontist (Bilingual)

  • Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
  • Graduated from a 12 year French Immersion program at FHS.
  • Attended UNB and received a Major in Biology and a Minor in Psychology.
  • Graduated from Dalhousie University Dentistry with awards in Prosthodontics and Academic achievement.
  • Awarded DCF and Thornton Graduate Studies Educational Scholarships.
  • Received specialty certificate in Prosthodontics and M.Sc. Degree from Ohio State University 
  • Awarded American College of Prosthodontics Education Foundation Scholarship.
  • Three year Prosthodontic training, including an extensive curriculum in implant Prosthodontics, fixed, removable and maxillofacial Prosthodontics.
  • Master’s thesis topic was on Placement and Restoration of Implants in Pediatric Anodontia Patients.
  • Awarded best graduate research at Post College Assembly 
  • Awarded best research presentation at Academy of Osseointegration 
  • Familiar with all implant systems and experienced with current systems such as: Noble Biocare, Steri-Oss, 3I, Bicon, Centerpulse, IMZ, TMI and Straumann.
  • Presently restored over 1500 implants in a multitude of clinical presentations and types of restorations
  • Full time Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University Dental School, Division of Prosthodontics, as Director of Clinical Prosthodontics and primary faculty in the Implant Elective Program and Qualifying Program for Foreign Trained Dentists
  • Part-time clinical practice in Prosthodontics as an associate with Shaffner Prosthodontic Associates Inc.
  • Full-time private practice dedicated to implant, crown and bridge and removable prosthodontics in Fredericton. Lectures locally and nationally on implant and cosmetic dentistry.
  • Active member in the: Academy of Osseointegration, International College of Prosthodontists, Association Prosthodontists of Canada,  Royal College Dentists of Canada (Fellow eligible), American College of Prosthodontists, Atlantic Prosthodontists Society, CDA, NBDA, NSDA

Dr. Sara Fagen (DMD, MS, Cert Perio, FRCD (C))

Periodontist (Bilingual)

Dr. Fagen was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She completed her dental training at McGill University, receiving her DMD degree in 2014.  In dental school, she received awards in Periodontology and in Dental Public Health. After graduation, Sara pursued her interest in periodontology and implantology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sara completed her specialty training and obtained her Masters of Oral Science and Certificate of Periodontology in 2017. Dr. Fagen is a board-certified Periodontist and her training focuses on: diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease, soft tissue grafting for gingival recession, crown-lengthening, bone grafting and dental implant surgery.
Dr. Fagen is a member of the Canadian Academy of Periodontology, American Academy of Periodontology, Canadian Dental Association, New Brunswick Dental Society and Fredericton Dental Society. 
Dr. Fagen moved to Fredericton in July 2019 with her husband, who grew up in Woodstock, NB. In her free time, Dr. Sara Fagen enjoys exploring New Brunswick’s hiking trails, waterfalls, and the local breweries.



Jürgen Scheuerl (RDT)

Registered Dental Technician (Bilingual)

  • Formally trained and qualified dental technician in South Germany since 1987.
  • Completed his New Brunswick registered dental technologist exam in 2000.
  • Member of the NBRDTA.
  • Owner of Bavarian Dental Ceramics working in partnership with Dr. Wilson since 1997.

Having an in-house dental laboratory is a privilege that is unique to very few dental offices. We can proudly say that we are still the only clinic in New Brunswick with an in-house lab and a qualified technician on site to assist in managing esthetically demanding situations. The use of high quality time tested materials as well as effective communication between Dr. Wilson, Jürgen and the patient, allows us to achieve exceptionally accurate and beautiful restorations in the most efficient manner for our valued patients. Working one-on-one with our highly skilled and detail driven technician truly gives our patients a distinct advantage and complete quality insurance.  



Gaby Poitras (RDA I)

Level I Dental Assistant (Bilingual)

Gaby grew up in Van Buren which is a small close-knit town located in Northern Maine. She worked as a part time Personal Support Worker at Borderview Rehabilitation & Living Center until graduation in 2014. Gaby earned her Level I Dental Assistant Diploma in June of 2015. As a free spirited person who wanted to see more, she decided to move to the beautiful city of Fredericton in June 2017. When she arrived, Gaby worked as a Personal Support Worker at Eden Retirement Villa until she found Smile Science in May of 2019. 

Gaby loves spending her days outside, adventuring and exploring abandoned houses. Gaby is an artist who draws and paints whenever time permits. Since joining Smile Science, she has a developed a dream of becoming a Dental Lab Technician because she finds the art of creating and modifying crowns a beautiful art. 



Tara O'Donnell (RDA II)

Level II Periodontal & Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Tara was born and raised in Fredericton. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Holland College in 2004 as a Certified Level II Dental Assistant and has been working in oral healthcare ever since. Tara is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant who has advanced training and certification in Orthodontics. During her fifteen years as a Dental Assistant Tara has worked in both General, Periodontal, Orthodontic and Prosthodontic offices. At Smile Science she assists and coordinates our Periodontal and Orthodontic appointments. 
Tara loves to spend her spare time outdoors with her friends and family - snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking and camping are some of her favorite activities. 



Kaitlin Morehouse RDH

Registered Dental Hygienist

Kaitlin grew up in Woodstock New Brunswick. She earned her Bachelor of Science-Honours in Biochemistry from UNB in 2017 and her Dental Hygiene Diploma at Dalhousie University in 2019. Kaitlin is self-initiated, trained in local anesthesia and loves to help patients improve their oral health.
Kaitlin and her fiancé Mitch decided they wanted to be closer to their families, so they made the move from Halifax to Fredericton, with their cat Mr. Molly in January 2022. Kaitlin loves house plants. In her spare time she likes to garden, bake and spend time with her family and friends.
